The Circle of Life - "The Lion King"

The Circle of Life the classic Lion King was my pick for our  90’s theme this week.   This was truly a musical movie moment and I have so many fond memories. 

My love of movies stems right back to my childhood and it was the Disney musicals that became the favourite genre of my young life. And so I have chosen my favourite Disney movie scene of all time, which is also accompanied by a beautiful, harmonic opening song.

The Circle of Life from the classic 1994 animated film The Lion King. The song was written by Elton John and sung in the film by Carmen Twillie (Female Vocals) and Lebo m (opening isiZulu vocals). It is no wonder the film is acknowledged as not only the 4th best animated film, but as the highest grossing 2D film of all time in the U.S.

I’m sure this movie holds a special spot in everyone’s heart as it was not only beautifully animated, but it held resonance as an emotionally powerful film touching on topics dealing with loss, heartache, inner-strength and ultimately perseverance.

I can remember feeling so many different emotions when watching the opening scene. I was wowed, touched, excited, and eager from what was to come. it was and still is for me the best opening scene of all scenes in a Disney Movie and a definite symbol of my childhood
